15/12/2020 - Victor's Moot 2021 Registrations Open

Registrations for the H V Perera QC Memorial Moot Competition 2021 scheduled to be held virtually on the 7th, 8th and 9th of May 2021 will start on the 17th December 2020. Register your team by completing registration application on or before 25th February 2021.

25/02/2021 - Moot problem release date

The Moot problem for the fourth H V Perera QC Memorial Moot Competition 2021 was released on the 25th of February 2021.

The Victor's Moot

Sri Lanka Law College

With the hope of filling a long-standing vacuum for international exposure to the enthusiastic law student community of Sri Lanka, Victor’s Moot was launched in 2018.

The moot based on International Commercial Arbitration saw the participation of 8 International teams including teams from India, Pakistan, Thailand and 8 local teams at the inaugural competition . The Panel of Arbitrators consisted of internationally renowned eminent professionals in the field including: – Dr. K. Kanag-Isvaran PC – Prof Romesh Weeramantry of Clifford Chance LLP – Prof Srilal Perera (ICC Arbitrator, MIGA-World Bank, ICSID) Dr Harsha Cabraal, PC (ICC Arbitrator) – Mr. Faisz Musthapa PC (Emeritus Sri Lanka High Commissioner for the United Kingdom) – Dr. Asanga Gunawansa (Arbitrator for Kuala Lumpur Regional Center for Arbitration) – Mr. Thusantha Wijemanne (Emeritus Director General of the SAARC Arbitration Council)

Established in 1874, Sri Lanka Law College functions under the Incorporated Council of Legal Education (under the Incorporated Council of Legal Education Ordinance No.2 of 1900) to administer legal education to persons who desire to be enrolled in the Bar of Sri Lanka. Law College is the only institution, which offers a complete course of study leading to examinations for those desiring to qualify for admission to the profession.
